Bridging Psyche and Soma

blue butterfly against sandThis workshop is primarily for craniosacral therapists and also (by arrangement) healers and other therapists and practitioners, and offers an opportunity to explore in depth the fascinating relationship between `psyche' and `soma': the interaction of mind and body, spirit and matter. We will examine how our body carries experiences with which we are as yet unable to connect fully, especially on an emotional level. It can manifest the most eloquent symptoms, telling our story until we are ready to become aware, and are able to listen and respond, allowing whatever changes are needed to take place.

We will draw on 'Symptom as Symbol' (Gordon-Brown and Somers) and apply this perspective from transpersonal psychology to the subtle hands-on awareness available to us in craniosacral therapy. 'The Transpersonal is that which transcends the personal but also includes it.'

This workshop invites exploration of the imaginal world as a language of energy: a living dream with its potential to enrich our lives and our subtle body work. It can appears in a myriad of forms, bridging all levels of being and giving voice to that which often cannot immediately be named, but which we know through its heart resonance and a deep sense of coming home. 'As you start to walk the way, the way appears', Rumi.

The day is for a small group and will include personal exploration through creative visualisation, gestalt work, dialoguing, meditation  and imaging, with time for a broad range of illustrations from relevant case histories.

This workshop qualifies as Primary CPD for the Craniosacral Association (CSTA) and is also on: www.blueturtlecst.com (postgraduate courses).
